Meet the experienced and friendly doctors and staff who make Dr. Bernadette Woods Eyecare the leading provider of vision care products and services in Merritt Island.

Bernadette McShane-Woods, O.D.

Dr. Bernadette Woods has practiced in Brevard County for the past 20 years. She started in Orlando practicing at the Guber Eye Clinic where she specialized in the management and treatment of Eye Diseases and the fitting of contact lenses. Since moving to Brevard County, Dr. Woods has established a pratice in general Optometry where she specializes in the treatment of chronic dry eye disease, ocular nutrition counseling, management of Eye Diseases, pediatrics and difficult to fit contact lens wearers. She has a reputation of being caring and dedicated to her patients and her community.

Born in Pennsylvania and raised in New Jersey, Dr. Woods received a Bachelor of Science at St. Joseph’s University in Phila Penn. While in Undergraduate School, Dr. Woods did research under Dr.Tony Scarpa in Biochemistry at the Universty of Pennslyvania Medical School. After graduation, Dr. Woods attended the Penn College of Optometry where she received a Bachelor of Science in Visual Science and a Doctorate in Optometry. After her completion of Optometry School, Dr. Woods practiced in Philadelphia while attending the University of Penn Wharton School of Business.

Dr. Woods began her Optometric pratice in Brevard County in 1992. She is a past member of the American Optometric Association, the Florida Optomertic Association and is currently a member of the National Glaucoma Society, Dry Eye Society, and the Ocular Nutrition Society.

In addition to her pratice in Titusville, Dr. Woods has a passion for mission work and has traveled to Haiti, Dominican Republic and New Orleans. She is the mother of two beautiful daughters and the three enjoy traveling together. Dr. Woods has a love of fitness and competes regularly in marathons, half marathons and triathlons.
